Dance Class Descriptions
2/3 Yr Old Combo
This class is for dancers that fall between the age of 2 & 3 years old. They will learn the ballet, tap and tumbling that will aid in the development of the knowledge base for dance technique as well as enhancing coordination. Dress code for this class includes leotard, skirt, tights (all of which can be any color) ballet and tap shoes as well as hair being pulled back from face.
4/5 Yr Old Combo
This class is for dancers that fall between the age of 4 & 5 years old. They will learn ballet, tap and jazz. They will learn terminology as well as developing a strong base of the techniques of each individual style of dance. Dress code for this class includes leotard, skirt, tights (all of which can be any color) ballet and tap shoes as well as hair being pulled back from face.
5/6 Yr Old Combo
This class is for dancers that fall between the age of 5 & 6 years old. 5 year olds will need to have at least 1 year of dance training to be enrolled in this class. They will learn ballet, tap and jazz. They will learn terminology as well as developing a strong base of the techniques of each individual style of dance on a more advanced level. Dress code for this class includes leotard, skirt, tights (all of which can be any color) ballet and tap shoes as well as hair being pulled back from face.
Ballet I
This is a beginner level class recommended for students 5-7 years of age. Dancers will learn the fundamentals of ballet that includes terminology, positions and technique across the floor. Dress code for this class includes a leotard and tights with a skirt being optional and can be any color with the hair being securely pulled back from face. *Gymnastics leotards and shorts are not proper dress code.
Ballet II
This is an intermediate level class recommended for students 8-10 years of age. At least 1 year of prior ballet training is required for this class. Dancers will build upon the fundamentals of ballet that includes terminology, positions and technique across the floor at a slightly more advanced level that Ballet I and at a quicker pace. Dress code for this class includes a leotard and tights with a skirt being optional and can be any color with the hair being securely pulled back from face. *Gymnastics leotards and shorts are not proper dress code.
Ballet III
This is an advanced level class recommended for students 9-11 years of age. At least 2 years of prior ballet training is required for this class. Dancers will build upon the prior knowledge of ballet that includes terminology, positions and technique across the floor at a more advanced level that Ballet II and at a quicker pace. Dress code for this class includes a leotard and tights with a skirt being optional and can be any color with the hair being securely pulled back from face. *Gymnastics leotards and shorts are not proper dress code.
Tap II
This is an intermediate level class recommended for students 8-11 years of age. At least 1 year of prior tap training is required for this class. Dancers will learn terminology as well as developing individual and combined tap steps and phrases. Dress code for this class is a leotard, skirt or shorts in any color as well as hair being pulled back from face. Tights are recommended but not mandatory.
Jazz II
This is an intermediate level class recommended for students 8-11 years of age. At least 1 year of prior jazz training is required for this class. Dancers will learn terminology as well as developing individual and combined jazz steps and phrases. Dress code for this class is a leotard, skirt or shorts in any color as well as hair being pulled back from face. Tights are recommended but not mandatory.
Hip Hop I
This is a beginner level class recommended for students 5-6 years old. Dancers will learn across the floor hip hop steps to aid in coordination and knowledge of time and space as well as technical combinations to a variety of songs. We recommend wearing tshirts, tank tops, shorts, leggings, and sneakers of any kind. No midriff is allowed. Hair needs to be pulled back from face.
Hip Hop II
This is an intermediate level class recommended for students 7-11 years old. At least 1 year of prior hip hop class is required for this class. Dancers will learn across the floor hip hop technique as well as hip hop routines to a variety of different songs and styles. This is a quicker paced class. We recommend wearing tshirts, tank tops, shorts, leggings, and sneakers of any kind. No midriff is allowed. Hair needs to be pulled back from face.
Contemporary II
This is an intermediate level class recommended for students 7-11 years old. At least 1 year of prior hip hop class is required for this class. Dancers will explore time and space as well as interpretation of emotions through movement. They will learn combinations as well as choreography development. Dress code for this class is any color Leotards and shorts. We recommend bare feet or contemporary/lyrical shoes.
